Dr. 규GYU湀(Byung-Gyu Kim, Ph.D. in South Korea) is the founder of the Goldenlion on Lotus Press and a life scientist who has spent over 20 years at the frontier of biotechnology (Multi‑OMICS analysis platforms) while practicing Seon (Zen) Buddhism.
Guided by Great Seon Master Jinje—the 79th Dharma heir in the lineage of Shakyamuni Buddha and Supreme Patriarch of the Jogye Order—Dr. GYU follows the ancient Korean hwadu, “What is your true self before you were born from your parents?” This koan points beyond concepts to the original mind that no algorithm or ideology can grasp.
Dr. GYU clearly distinguishes mind from thoughts and sees the way back to the mind’s true home as gathering all scattered thoughts into a single, focused point—one thought, or ilnyeom. He regards this single‑pointed unification as the core of hwadu meditation and expresses it in a simple formula: “Multi Think One.”
