Title: From the Eye of the Mind to the Lens of Science

The philosophy of 'RadiantOrigin'—the soul of Goldenlion on Lotus—traces its roots back to a serendipitous moment in 2008.

Just after completing my intense doctoral studies and before departing for a new chapter in Germany, I was graced with a meeting with Supreme Patriarch Jinje (眞際), a great master of Korean Seon (Zen) Buddhism. As I stood on the precipice of a solitary journey in a foreign land, he silently placed a book in my hands—a guide to Seon (Meditation) and Hwadu (Koan).

About Supreme Patriarch Jinje: Born in 1934, he is the 79th Patriarch in the direct lineage of the Buddha and the spiritual leader of the Joyge Order of Korean Buddhism. "Open the eye of the mind, and find your true self."

In the unfamiliar laboratories of Munich, while I spent countless nights exploring mitochondria and the molecular origins of life, his teachings became an anchor for my spirit. But over the last 17 years, this spiritual seed has evolved into something more tangible through my life as a scientist.

As a principal technologist specializing in Mass Spectrometry, I investigate the very building blocks of matter. My work requires Qualitative Analysis to identify the true essence of a substance, and Quantitative Analysis to measure its precise existence.

I realized that this rigorous scientific process—filtering out impurities to reveal the unadulterated truth—mirrors the practice of Seon, which strips away delusions to reveal the True Self.

 

Goldenlion on Lotus bridges these two worlds through ZenQ. 'Zen' honors the spiritual lineage of Seon, while 'Q' represents the twin pillars of science: Qualitative and Quantitative analysis. We do not ask for blind faith. We pursue a peace of mind that is verified by the sharpest analytical lens. By converging the intuitive wisdom of the East with the rational precision of the West, ZenQ defines our path—spirituality grounded in reality.
